Nike and Microsoft unveil a ‘one-of-a-kind’ ad campaign in India, says chief exec

Google’s new advertising campaign for the Xbox One in India is the first such campaign by the world’s biggest technology giant to use a digital medium, with a global focus.

Google India, a joint venture between the tech giant and the Indian government, will run a series of ads across social media platforms, in Hindi, Urdu and other languages.

It will feature clips from the upcoming film, ‘The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild’, in which Zelda plays the role of an apprentice warrior.

The adverts will also feature interviews with members of the Indian youth and their experiences of the game.

Microsoft India, which runs Microsoft and Bing India, said the adverts are the first time the company has run a commercial on social media.

The first adverts, which will be running in Hindi from the 10th to the 14th of October, feature an Indian woman in a traditional attire.

“This is a brand that is truly committed to India, and our ad campaign will highlight the role that women play in the game and the world,” said Amit Bansal, executive vice president of marketing at Microsoft India.

Bansal said the campaign is an important step for the Indian market, which is set to be one of the fastest growing markets for the company, due to a growing tech sector.

‘Breath of the wild’ is scheduled to be released in India on November 25.
